1 LB chopped chuck
1 cup " onion
1/2 cup " green pepper
1 8 oz can tomato sauce -W/CHEESE
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
1/4 tsp pepper

6 LARGE or 8 SMALL French rolls

Directions:
Directions:
In a skillet, brown beef, onions and green peppers. Then pour off fat.

Stir in remaining ingredients.

Cover and simmer while preparing rolls.

There was no further entry, but I recall that "preparing rolls" meant slicing, and then hollowing out a bit. The meat was then piled into the bottom of the bun, in the hollow, and the top was then placed over. These were supposed to look like little footballs.
