2 1/2 c. Serviceberries (fresh)
1 c. Sugar
1/4 c. Flour
Dash of Salt
1 T. Lemon Juice
2 T. Butter

Directions:
Combine berries, sugar, flour, salt, and lemon juice. Fill pastry-lined pie pan. Dot with butter and adjust top crust. Bake at 400º for 59 minutes. You can add a dash of cinnamon for additional flavor.

When I figured out we had service berries on our property I decided to try and use them into a pie. Well, my husband and father-in-law were suspect of my berry identification skills and did their own research on service berries prior to partaking in pie eating. Once the pie was deemed edible we agreed that serviceberry pies are similar to blueberry pies.
