2 tablespoons margarine (1 tablespoon for greasing the pan)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
4 tablespoons sour milk**
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour, pre-sifted
3 peeled and mashed bananas
1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped (optional)

**MAKING SOUR MILK
Put 4 tablespoons of milk in a measuring cup. Add ¼ teaspoon of cider vinegar or distilled white vinegar to the milk. Let it stand for 10 minutes before adding it to the recipe.

Cooking Steps:
1. Before you start, set the oven temperature to 350ºF. Grease loaf pan or pans with margarine.

2. Cream together in the large mixing bowl 1 tablespoon margarine and 1 cup of sugar.

3. Add the following ingredients one at a time in the order listed, while continuously beating: 2 beaten eggs, 4 tablespoons sour milk, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 cups pre-sifted flour, 3 mashed bananas, and 1 cup walnuts.

4. Pour batter into pan. Bake at 325ºF for 1 hour or until a toothpick stuck into the center of the bread comes out dry.

5. Allow the bread to cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
