1 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
1 t. Vanilla
1 3/4 c. Flour
1 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Cinnamon
1/2 t. salt
3 c. Oatmeal
1 c. Chocolate Chips or Raisins

Mix sugars and lard. Add eggs, vanilla, and dry ingredients. Bake at 350º for 10-15 minutes.

I never wrote this recipe down. It was always on the lid of the oatmeal container. Then one day they replaced it with another recipe. Talk about panic. Luckily I found the recipe and wrote it down. The only thing that doesn't change is that everything changes. Grandma Hyde also submitted this recipe only with the raisins instead of chocolate chips.
