3 Pints of Beef Stock
4 Tbs Barley
2 Carrots
1 Onion
1 Turnip
1 Leak
1 Tbs Parsley
Salt and Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Put barley into a bowl with boiling water, immediately pour into sieve and rinse well with cold water.

Cut carrots, turnip, onion and leak in small squares

Put stock into the soup pan and add a little salt and pepper, barley and the vegetables

Cover and simmer for 3 Hours by which time the barley will have thickened the soup
