1 zucchini
1/4+ c. dried sundaikkai (optional)
1/4 c. toor dal
1/8 c. chana dal
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
1 tbsp. grated coconut (optional)
6 green chilis
1+ tsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
8 curry leaves
1/2+ c. water
1/2 tsp. manjal puri
1 1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. buttermilk or yogurt water
Cilantro to garnish (optional)

- Peel and chop zucchini and set boiling in some water
- Fry or roast sundaikkai until blackened and set aside
- Soak toor dal, chana dal, and cumin seeds in water for 30 minutes, then blend with coconut and chilies
- Pop mustard seeds in oil and add curry leaves
- Add blended mixture plus 1/2 c water - keep heat low and stir to avoid sticking to pot
- Add manjal puri, salt, and buttetmilk
- Cook a bit on medium heat until near boiling
- Add boiled zucchini and sundaikkai
- Allow to foam up and then remove from heat
