½ cup crunchy peanut butter
¾ cup shortening
½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
½ cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1¼ cups all purpose flour
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 - 6oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Measure peanut butter, shortening and brown sugar. Beat thoroughly peanut butter, shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture and stir well. Fold in chocolate chips. Using medium stainless steel scoop, drop batter 2 inches apart on baking stone. Bake 10-15 minutes. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from baking stone. Makes 3 dozen.
