APPLE MIXTURE

8 cups peeled & sliced apples
¼ c firmly packed brown sugar
¾ t ground cinnamon
¼ t ground nutmeg
pinch of cloves
1 ½ T lemon juice or water


CRUMB TOPPING

1 stick softemed bu butter
½ C firmly packed brown sugar
¼ C flour
¼ t salt
1 ½ C quick oat, quick oats or a combination or quick, & old fashion oats

Apple mixture:

Peel and slice apples and place in a large mixing bowl. In a small mixing bowl add the next 5 ingredients, mix well and fold into sliced apples and mix until all apples are coated. Place apple mixture in a 9x13 inch pan

Crumb topping:

Mix all 5 ingredients
