2 cups raisins
½ cup brown sugar
1 ½ cups water
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon soda
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar
¾ cup melted shortening

Directions:
Directions:

Cut the raisins until fine. Add ½ cup sugar, tablespoon flour, and water. Cook until thick, add vanilla and cool.
Mix the sifted measured flour with the soda and add to the rolled oats, cup of sugar, and melted shortening. Mix well. Divide the crumbly dough in 2 parts. Use ½ to cover bottom of 10 inch pan. Spread in the cool filling. Top with remaining dough, pressing down to cover filling.
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
