1/2 cup of dairy sour cream
2 teaspoons of vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, sour cream, milk, butter, corn syrup, and salt in heavy 2-qt saucepan.
2. Stir over moderate heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture reaches a boil. Boil over moderate heat 9-10 min, to 238º F (soft ball stage) Remove from heat and allow to stand until lukewarm(110º) about 1 hour.
3. Add vanilla, and beat until mixture just begins to lose its gloss and hold its shape. (requires very little beating)
4. Quickly stir in nuts and cherries, and turn into buttered pan. Let stand until firm before cutting. (this recipe calls for Diamond Walnuts but we use pecans.)
