2 cups flour
2/3 cups brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Vanilla flavoring
3/4 cup of Crisco
2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and baking powder.
Cream together sugar and shortening; add beaten egg
Beat in the flour mixture and and the flavoring
Roll the dough into balls and roll each ball in granulated sugar.
Place sugared balls on a greased and floured cookie sheet, and
flatten with a fork two ways
Bake at 350 degrees until crisp and slightly browned.
