Directions:
In a shallow dish, combine cayenne pepper and celery salt. Mix until well blended.

Lightly run a wedge of lemon around the edge of a 2-oz. shooter glass. Turn glass over and put the edge of the glass in the dish of cayenne pepper-celery salt mixture. Tap side of glass to get rid of any excess.

Add oyster to shot glass, top with vodka, add cocktail sauce (add couple of drops of lemon juice from wedge if using) and serve.

Personal Notes:
Barry first had these when he went to The Masters Golf Tournament in 2009. He raved about them when he got home so we tried to figure out what went in it. This was kind of tricky because I couldn't taste them...I'm allergic to shellfish.

This is the recipe we came up with.
We served them at Barry's Retirement Party in 2009 and again at the Squash Club's 50th Anniversary in 2012. Always a hit with those that love oysters!

QUOTE:

"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."
Ernest Hemingway
