3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
1 egg

Topping:
1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp firm butter
Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Grease round layer pan, 9x1 1/2" or 8x8x2" or 9x9x2" pan. Blend all cake ingredients, beat vigorously 1/2 minute. Spread in pan. Mix topping ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle topping ingredients over batter. Bake 25-30 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
