2-9" unbaked pie crusts
1/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. pecan halves
1/2 c. brown sugar
5 large, tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 Tbs. fresh lemon juice
1 Tbs. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º F. Spread butter evenly on bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate. press nuts, rounded side down, into butter on bottom of plate. Pat brown sugar evenly over pecans. Place first crust over brown sugar. Toss apple slices with lemon juice. Combine flour, sugar, spices, and salt. Toss with apples. Spread evenly over pie crust. Top with remaining crust. Prick top to vent. Bake for 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes then invert onto serving plate. Great a la mode with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
