3/4 c. Oatmeal, raw
3/4 c. Shortening
3/4 c. Sugar
2 small Bananas
1 Egg, beaten well
1 1/2 c. Flour, sifted
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1/2 c. Walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Spread oatmeal on a cookie sheet and place in 350º oven until browned. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Mash bananas and add with the egg to the shortening and sugar mixture. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture beating constantly. Stir in nuts and cooled oatmeal. Blend thoroughly. Drop about a teaspoonful on a well greased cookie sheet for each cookie. Bake at 350º for 15 minutes.
