3 cans Hunts whole tomatoes - crush in Cuisinart
1 small can Hunts tomato sauce
3 finely chopped onions
1 minced garlic clove
1 finely chopped carrot
1 finely chopped celery
8 finely chopped stuffed green olives
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. fennel seeds
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup olive oil
Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion, celery,celery, and garlic until soft but not brown. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, sugar, pepper, basil, fennel, and olives. Simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally. The olives and tomatoes are salty so test it before adding salt.
