1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup butter, softened

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together cornstarch, icing sugar and flour and put in bowl. Thoroughly blend in butter using spoon.

Work dough with hands until soft, smooth dough forms. If necessary, refrigerate 1 hour or until easy to handle.

Shape into 1" balls. Place 1 1/2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten lightly with fork. Or, roll dough to 1/4" thickness; cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Decorate with colored sprinkles.

Bake at 300ºF for 15 - 20 or until edges are lightly browned. Remove and cool completely on wire rack. Store in tightly covered container.

Orange or Lemon Shortbread: Add 1 tbsp grated orange lemon or orange rind to flour mixture.
