• 3 large sweet onions (sliced in rings)
• 2 tablespoons of sugar
• 2 can’s of beef broth or large container of broth
• 1 loaf of fresh French bread
• Butter
• Olive oil
• Provolone cheese (sliced)
• Worchester sauce

Directions:
Directions:
1. coat large soup pan with olive oil
2. cook onion rings in olive oil over rather high heat
3. add sugar
4. let onion brown over the high heat
5. reduce heat when onions are nice and brown
6. add beef broth and 1 cup of water
7. slice French bread in 1 ½ slices and butter and broil in the over, turn over and let toast a few more minutes and then turn off oven and leave in oven
8. cook soup for at least another hour
9. spoon into oven safe dishes
10. Top with a piece of the toast and a piece of the provolone cheese
11. broil until cheese is brown
