1 lb. ground beef
1/2c. or more, Uncle Ben's long grain rice
1 regular size can diced tomatoes
1 large can tomato juice
1/4 tsp. allspice or more
1/2 tsp. or more cinnamon. I might use 1 tsp. the cinnamon really makes it.
1/2 c. water
1 or 2 tbsp. butter
salt & pepper
2 medium size zucchini or more
1 pkg. Pita Pocket Bread

The zucchini are supposed to be stuffed, but I like the zucchini cut in chunks & mixed with the rest. Brown hamburger, salt, & pepper, in electric skillet & drain. Add canned tomatoes, spices, rice, water and about 2 c. or more tomato juice. It should be watery. Put lid on and simmer at 200 or 250 for 10 or 15 min. Then add zucchini & cook until done. Stir occasionally while cooking & check to see if more juice is needed.
Have the Pita bread cut in half & brushed with margarine on both sides. When you put the zucchini in skillet, then start browning your Pita on a griddle, both sides. When done, put a little margarine inside, and stuff with the zucchini mixture.

When I was growing up, our neighbor on Grand Ave., Elaine Shaheen, would make this and invite me to dinner. I loved it. She served it with the Lebanese sheets of flat bread. That's hard to find, so I substituted the Pita and it's just as good. Reanne and I founder on this!
