1 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 c. sifted sugar
1 1/2 c. (about 12) egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 1/3 c. sifted sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Measure sifted flour, add 1/2 cup sugar, sift together four times.
2. Combine egg whites, salt, cream of tartar, and flavorings in large bowl. Beat until moist soft peaks form. Add rest of sugar in 4 additions, beating until blended each time.
3. Sift in flour mixture in 4 additions, folding in with large spoon each time; turn bowl often.
BAKING. Pour into ungreased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 375 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Cool cake upside down in pan resting on cake rack. Then loosen from sides and remove.
