3/4 cup Crisco or lard
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup pure sorghum
2 cups regular flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix Crisco, sugar, egg and sorghum well.
Sift flour and add remaining ingredients to flour.
Add flour mixture to wet ingredients 1/3 at a time.
Make small balls then press flat with a glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 350º for about 13 minutes or so
(I spray the cookie sheet with Pam Spray)
Makes about 3-4 dozen cookies. About 15 minutes prep. time.

The Wheelan family loves these cookies!!! When we were kids and had reunions at Grandmas, the first thing we'd do is run down to her basement for some cookies out of the freezer!! We actually thought molasses cookies were supposed to be eaten frozen!
