1/2 loaf (8oz.) French bread, torn in 2" chunks
3c. milk
3 eggs
1/4c. raisins - if you like raisins
2T. vanilla extract
1c. sugar
3T. butter
1/4t. cinnamon
Whiskey Sauce:
1/2t. cornstarch
1c. heavy cream
2c. sugar
2T. butter
Pinch of cinnamon
1T. whiskey or 2t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium bowl, place French bread pieces. Add raisins and milk' soaking for 1 hour or until all the chunks are completely saturated. if necessary, add a little more milk.
In a small bowl, whisk eggs, vanilla, sugar and butter until frothy. Pour this mixture over the soaked bread chunks. Toss gently to mix. Preheat oven to 325º. Pour the mixture into a greased 8 x 8 baking pan. Bake for 1 hour or until it is golden brown. Spoon warm pudding into bowls and pass the warm whiskey sauce.
SAUCE:
In medium saucepan, combine cream, sugar, butter and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Stir in cornstarch and cook until sauce thickens slightly, about 3 minutes. remove from heat; stir in bourbon or vanilla. Serve warm.
