French Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce Recipe

2c. warm water
1-1/2c. sugar
1 can evaporated milk
One 12oz. loaf of french bread torn into bite size pieces.
1/2t. vanilla
1/2c. raisins
Pinch of nutmeg
5 eggs lightly beaten
6T. unsalted butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl. Dissolve sugar in warm water. Stir in milk, melted butter, raisins, nutmeg and eggs. Stir bread into liquid mixture. Let mixture sit for about 45 mins. stirring occasionally. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake in a 375º pre-heated oven until golden brown about 35 minutes. Serve with bourbon sauce.
SAUCE:
1c. light Kara syrup, 1/4 stick of butter unsalted and melted; 1/4c. bourbon; 1/2t. vanilla extract
