6 eggs
3 c. sugar
3 c. milk
1 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
1 qt. heavy cream

Additional milk for ice cream container.

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs together, add sugar and mix.
Add 3 c. milk and mix well.
Add vanilla and cream, mix well.

Cook over low heat until warm all the way through.
Stir frequently so bottom of pan doesn't get a film on it. Cool before making ice cream.

Pour into a 1 1/2 gallon ice cream container.
Fill with milk to the line on the container, about 3/4 full.

Put container in ice cream maker. Add a layer of ice in bottom then a good layer of ice cream salt on top. Continue adding the layers until the container is covered.
Once ice cream maker is on, ice and salt will need to be added as the ice melts.

When ice cream is done either take ice cream container out of maker and spoon into a dish and freeze or remove motor from top of maker and add more ice on top. Cover with towels to keep it frozen.
