1/2 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. chili powder and simmer for 1 min.
1 - 15 to 20 oz. can of ranch-style beans - drained
1- 12 oz. can whole kernel corn - drained
1- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Brown beef and onion until all juices are gone and drain. Add chili powder and simmer for 1 minute. Add Ranch-style beans, corn, tomato sauce, salt, and sugar and let simmer. Preheat oven to 350º. Generously grease a 13x9 inch pan. Prepare 1 package of corn meal mix (12 to 15 oz.) as directed. Pour and spread in bottom of the greased pan. Make the edges high. Spoon meat mixture over cornbread. Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheese over meat mixture. Bake 20 minutes or until bread looks brown. Don't go all the way to the edge of the bread with the meat.
