1 cup buttermilk
1 cup whipping cream
1 tsp soda - in buttermilk
1 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tsp anise seeds
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
Enough flour to make a soft dough

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and add enough flour to make a soft dough. Roll out like a rope, about the size of a round clothespin. Shape like the number "8". Bake for only a few minutes, and take out of the over before they start to brown.

Serve plain or with butter.
