4 squares Bakers Sweet Chocolate
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks, unbeaten
2 cups buttermilk
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp baking soda
4 egg whites beaten stiff

Directions:
Directions:
Combiner chocolate and boiling water in saucepan. Place over low heat and stir until chocolate melts. Cool. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add yolks, one at a time beating after each. Add chocolate and vanilla. Mix well.
Mix dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition. Fold in egg whites. Pour into three 8 or 9 inch cake pans, lined with wax paper. Bake 350º oven for 25 - 30 minutes. Frost with coconut pecan frosting.

This is soooo good. Spread frosting over each layer and then ice with the rest of the frosting. Don't be stingy with the frosting. Make something else for Jayme as she hates coconut.
