1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg or 3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla or almond flavoring
2 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp.salt

Directions:
Directions:
Work butter until soft. Cream with sugar until very light and fluffy. Add beaten egg(s) and flavoring until smooth. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture. Chill dough. Fill cookie press and force onto a greased cold cookie sheet. Bake in hot oven (400º) until delicately browned.

This is a recipe from Jodi and Corey's great aunt on their fathers side. The family owned a bakery in downtown Portland from the early to mid 1900's. These women knew how to bake! Jodi and Corey both got that gene.
