1 1/2 c sugar
1/3 c water
2 egg whites
1/2 cream of tarter
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Mix all ingredients except flavoring. Blend thoroughly. Set over boiling water and beat steadily for 7-10 minutes until icing peaks. Remove from flame and add flavoring. Beat until cool and think enough to spread
