1/2 tspn. salt
1/4 cup shortening or Canola oil
1/2 cups nuts
3 Tblspns. cocoa or 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tspn. vanilla

Mix together. Bake in oiled pie pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with peppermint ice cream!

I learned making this pie when I first moved to Nashville. I was always used to chocolate pudding pie in the north. Here in the south, not only did I learn about Fudge Pie, but also Chess!
