Texas Brownies Recipe

2 c flour
2 c sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c Crisco
1 c coffee or water
1/4 c cocoa
1/2 c buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

FROSTING:
1/2 c butter
2 T cocoa
1/4 c buttermilk
3 1/2 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and sugar. In pan, combine butter, shortening, coffee and cocoa. Stir and heat to boil. Pour over flour mixture. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix with electric mixer. Pour into greased cake pan. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes.

FROSTING: Combine butter, cocoa and milk. boil and stir. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until smooth. Top over brownies.
