Ingredients: 5 eggs 1 tub 16 oz. mascarpone cheese 10 Tblspns. sugar 1 tspn. coffee flavored liquor or any flavoring 12 cup pot espresso coffee 500 gram package lady fingers 3 Tblspns. cocoa

Directions:Beat 5 egg yolks, 7 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon coffee liquor until creamy. Add mascarpone cheese and beat until creamy. In a separate bowl, beat 4 egg whites until they form peaks. Fold beaten egg white mixture into the mascarpone mixture. In a small bowl, add 3 tablespoons sugar and water to cool down espresso coffee. Dip lady fingers in espresso mixture and line the bottom of a 9” X 13” pan. Cover the cookies with half the cream mixture. Then dip lady fingers in espresso mixture and line the pan again. Top with rest of cream. Sprinkle top with cocoa or chocolate shavings. Chill for about 6 hours and then serve. |

Notes: I love Tiramisu, but it has to be authentic. The best I ever had was at Amerigo's restaurant. It is the closest thing to homemade. While I suggest you trying to make it yourself, if you're in a pinch, go to Amerigo's. You can buy it by the pan, but it isn't cheap! Great dessert to top off any Italian meal! I never had this as a child. In fact, I never heard of it until I moved to Nashville. It is rich and creamy, so you probably can't eat too much of it, unless that is all you have to eat.
