¼ cup butter or margarine
¼ cup all purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 cup half & half
4 cups cheddar cheese
½ tspn. thyme
¼ tspn. marjoram
¼ tspn. basil
18 hard-cooked eggs
¼ cups fresh parsley
1 lb. bacon or sausage cooked
1 ½ cups breadcrumbs
2 Tblspns. butter or margarine melted

Melt ¼ cup butter or margarine in heavy saucepan on low heat. Add ¼ cup flour and stir until smooth (1 minute) stirring constantly. Gradually add milk and half & half. Cook over medium heat until thick. Add cheese and herbs.

In a 13 X 9 inch baking dish, layer slices of eggs, parsley, bacon and cheese sauce. Combine crumbs and other butter over casserole. Refrigerate overnight.

Let stand for 30 minutes after refrigerating. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
