¾ cup margarine
1/3 cup of sugar
3 eggs
1 tspn. Vanilla
2 Tblspns. Fresh Orange Juice
3 cups of flour
1 Tblspn. of Baking Powder
Confectioner’s Sugar Glaze

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine and sugar thoroughly; add eggs, vanilla, and orange juice. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture. Knead dough in lightly floured wood board about 5 minutes. Using tablespoonsful of dough, roll to 6” lengths; press ends to form ring. Let stand on ungreased cookie sheets for 15 minutes at room temperature. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-17 minutes, or until lightly golden.

Icing:

Combine 2 ½ cups confectioners sugar with enough orange juice to make a thin glaze. Dip each hot cookies into glaze. Cool on racks. Decorate if desired.

My mother found this recipe and made them every Christmas back in the 60s. She loved them because they had nuts. I liked them, too. The recipe caught on and some of my aunts made them, as well.
